Rock climbing in Namibia

Spitzkoppe: The massif rises from the Erongo desert roughly three hours by road from Windhoek. Its coarse granite rewards precise footwork and friction technique. Routes range from introductory single pitches to cracks, chimneys, technical slabs, exposed scrambling and committing summit lines.

Grades and style: Route information may use French sport grades or South African grades. The number alone does not describe runouts, route finding, protection or exposure, so visiting climbers should begin conservatively and choose objectives based on experience and current conditions.
